Applications on the prescribed forms are invited from the eligible persons of Indian Nationality for the following technical posts:-
Technical Assistant: 16 Posts including 05 posts of backlog vacancies (SC- 04, ST-01,OBC- 04, UR- 05 and PWD-02) in Pay Scale/Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800 (PB-2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/- (Total emolument at present is Rs 26558/-(approx.)
Name of Post -Technical Assistant

• Post Code 001: (01 post) Biometry and Statistics (Reserved for PWD-Locomotor or
  Cerebral Palsy), Age Limit - 28 Years , Essential Qualifications: Ist Class B.Sc. with Statistics or Biostatistics as one of the subjects and one year full time professional qualification in Computer Application from a recognized institution/organization.
  Desirable: Candidate should have experience in Biostatistics or exposure to software for
  analysis of data. Job Requirement: To enter and analyze the data generated at every stage of drug
  development including clinical trials by using computer.
• Post Code 002 (01 post) S&T Management (Reserved for SC)
  Essential Qualification: Ist Class B.Sc. and one year professional qualification in
  Management from a recognized Institution/Organization.
  Desirable: Certificate course in Computer Applications (MS Office/RDBMS/Photoshop)
  and programming from Government recognized Institutes/Organization.
  Job Requirement: Management of CSIR Enterprise Transformation Portal at
  Lab/Divisional level. Assist scientists in preparation of Technical Reports and
  Institutional Publications and also assisting in day-to-day Divisional activities viz.
  organizing meetings, events and visits of distinguished delegates.
• Post Code 003: (06 posts) Biological Sciences (03 Unreserved, 02 OBC and 01 PWDHearing
  impairment)
  Essential Qualification: Ist Class B.Sc. in Life Sciences and one year professional
  qualification in Life Sciences/Medical Lab Technology/Computer
  Applications/Instrumentation from a recognized Institution/Organization.
  Desirable: Lab experience in cell culture/handling of microorganisms/handling of
  animals.
  Job Requirement: To work and assist the scientists in various biological assay systems
  and animal handling in laboratory set up.
• Post Code 004: (02 posts) Lab Animals (01 OBC and 01 ST)
  Essential Qualification: Ist Class B.Sc. in Life Sciences/Veterinary Sciences and one
  year professional qualification in Life Sciences/Veterinary Sciences/Medical Lab
  Technology/Computer Applications from a recognized Institution/Organization.
  Desirable: Lab experience in cell culture/handling of microorganisms/handling of
  animals.
  Job Requirement : Management and breeding of laboratory animals as per regulatory
  norms, conducting routine animal techniques, disease diagnostic procedures, animal
  health supervision, anesthesia and surgical procedures, assisting scientists in execution of
  laboratory animal management practices in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices
  and record keeping.
• Post Code 005: (01 post) SAIF (Reserved for SC)
  Essential Qualification: Ist Class Diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years full
  time duration or its equivalent in Electrical/Electronics after 10+2 in science stream.
  Desirable: Experience working with analytical instruments like HPLC, HPTLC, LCMS,
  DSC, TGA etc.
  Job Requirement: To work and handle Mass Spectra and NMR Spectroscopy.
• Post Code 006: (04 posts) Chemical Sciences (02 Unreserved, 01OBC and 01 SC).
  Essential Qualifications: Ist Class B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subject and one
  year professional qualification in Chemical Sciences/Computer applications from a
  recognized Institution/Organization.
  Desirable: Experience working with analytical instruments like HPLC, HPTLC, LCMS,
  DSC, TGA etc.
  Job Requirement: To work on the Mass Spectra and NMR Spectroscopy
• Post Code 007: (01 post) Civil Maintenance (Reserved for SC)
  Essential Qualifications: Ist Class Diploma in Civil Engineering of 3 years full time
  duration or its equivalent after 10+2 in science stream.
  Job Requirement: To supervise civil maintenance work, construction, preparation of
  estimate, tendering etc.

Application Fee: Applications must be accompanied with an application fee of
Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) for each Post Code in the form of Banker
Cheque/Demand Draft only drawn in favour of "Director, Central Drug Research
Institute” payable at Lucknow. SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities and CSIR employees
are exempted from application fee.

1. These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA). House Rent
Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance etc. as admissible to the Central
Government employees stationed in Lucknow which are made applicable to Council
employees.
2. In addition to the emoluments indicated against each category of posts, benefits such
as medical reimbursement, children’s educational allowance, leave travel concession,
conveyance and house building advance etc. are available as per rules.
3. The selected candidates will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension
Scheme as introduced by the GOI w.e.f. 01.01.2004. However, person working in other
Government Department/Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings/Central
Universities having Pension Scheme on GOI pattern prior to 01.01.2004 will continue to
be governed by the existing Pension Scheme i.e. CCS (Pension Rules), 1972.
Age limit & Relaxations
1. Age limit: The age should not be exceeded 28 years as on 30.11.2011 i.e. the closing
date of receipt of the applications. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC & Persons with
Disabilities/Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Govt. of India orders will apply.
2. Relaxation of upper age limits 5 years will also be admissible to those who had
ordinarily been domiciled of Kashmir Division of State of Jammu and Kashmir during
the period from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989 on production of relevant certificate from the
concerned authority.
3. In case of Persons with Disabilities only such persons would be eligible for reservation
in services/posts who suffer from not less than 40 per cent of relevant disability.
General conditions/information
1. Total emoluments payable will be at the minimum of the scale of pay inclusive of all
allowances.
2. The prescribed educational qualifications should have been obtained from recognized
Universities/Institutions.
3. The date of determining the age limit/experience/qualifications shall be closing date
prescribed for receipt of applications. The period of experience in a discipline/area of
work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum
educational qualification prescribed for that Group/Grade.
4. Candidates working in Government Departments, Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector
Undertakings and Government Funded Research Institutions should forward their
Applications through proper channel with a certificate that the applicant will be relieved
of his/her duties within one month from the date of receipt of offer of appointment, in the
event of his/her selection.
5. The candidate should clearly mention Post Code No. in his/her application and the area
in which he/she should be considered.
6. Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate application form
for each post mentioning Post Code No.
7. The prescribed essential qualification is a minimum and mere possession of the same
the candidates would not be entitled to be called for interview. Where the number of
applications were received are large in response to the advertisement, it may not be
convenient or possible for CSIR-CDRI to call all the candidates for interview. The
applications of the candidates will be screened by a Screening Committee who will adopt
its own criteria for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. The candidate
should, therefore, furnish all the details of qualifications and experience possessed by
him/her in the relevant field, over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed.
8. Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro single second class
rail fare/ordinary bus fare from their normal place of residence or the place as declared in
their applications or from the actual place of undertaking the journey, in India, whichever
is nearer to the place of interview, as per rules.
9. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be
treated as a disqualification for the post.
10. Enclosures received separately subsequent to the receipt of the application will not be
considered.
11. Other things being equal consideration would be given to candidates with proven
excellence in sports.
12. The decision of the Director CSIR-CDRI in all matters relating to eligibility,
acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of test/interview and
not to fill up all or any of the posts will be final and binding on the candidates and no
enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this regard from any individual or
his/her agency.
13. Application should be filled in prescribed form only. Incomplete application in any
form i.e not in prescribed form, properly not filled up and without application fee,
photograph, attested copies of educational qualification certificates/mark sheets, date of
birth, experience, unsigned, caste/community certificate or incomplete in any manner,
shall not be considered. Applications received after the last date of closing will not be
entertained and shall summarily be rejected.
14. Relaxation in Age-limit can be considered in the case of exceptionally meritorious
candidates.
