administrative departments of the laboratory.
The incumbent must be familiar with the management of the digital libraries, the necessary hardware andJob Requirement:
expected to continuously innovate as to keep the KRC in sync with the rapid changes in the technical publications
industry in addition to managing the day to day operations of the center. The incumbent will be expected to
continuously plan the growth of the center and base with the information technology is to as to provide a seamless
information access to the users. The incumbent will be required to participate in negotiations with the vendors and
also to contribute to the effective functioning of the consortium at CSIR labs. He / She will be required to continuously
interact with the scientists and the research planners of the laboratory and evolve collection policies so that the
collections of the KRC fulfill the information needs of the scientific community and the R&D programs of the
laboratory. Most importantly the incumbent will be required to plan and manage the working of the KRC within the
available budgets and also come out with innovative strategies to raise the same.
This is a leadership position in the Knowledge and Resource Center (KRC) and the incumbent is(5) CODE NO. 05: CHEMICAL ENGINEERING & PROCESS DEVELOPMENT DIVISION - 01 POST [1 UR]

9 years, preferably in computerized library of any Research Institute / Corporate sector.Desirable
library development etc. would be preferred. Candidate must have experience of working in computerized
environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team based
environment. Knowledge & experience of working with library software and using RFID system for libraries is
necessary. Experience in managing selection, procurement & maintenance of E resources, development &
maintenance, of library homepage is desirable. Experience in managing virtual library, providing innovative services
based on E resources & IT will be preferred.
: Science graduate. Knowledge / specialization in an area of information technology, archives, DigitalJob Requirement:
acquisition of print and E resources —book procurement, indexing, managing subscription of the journals and

Qualification:
First Class B. Sc (Science).Desirable:
have basic knowledge in Microbiology in relation to maintenance and preservation of microbial strains. Computer
knowledge is desirable
First Class B.Sc in Microbiology or M. Sc in Microbiology preferably with 1st Class. The candidate shouldJob Requirement:

To assist in maintenance and preservation of microbial strains, Record keeping in dailyBenefits under Council Service:
1. These posts carry usual allowances i.e., Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport
Allowance (TA) etc. as admissible to the Central Government employees stationed in Pune and as made applicable
to CSIR. Council accommodation will be allotted as per priority to be reckoned from the date of joining/availability, in
which case HRA will not be admissible.
2. All scientists in Pay Band -3 are eligible for Professional Update Allowance of Rs. 10,000/- per annum.
3. All scientists will be entitled to two additional increments (without DA).
4. In addition to the emoluments indicated against each category of posts, benefits such as Provident fund,
applicability of New Pension Scheme, reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession, Conveyance
Advance and House Building Advance are available as per rules of CSIR.
5. A Scientist can augment his income with earnings by way of honorarium/ Intellectual fees from
Consultancy/technical services and R&D sponsored project(s) undertaken by the laboratory.

7. Candidates on appointment in scientist position will have the opportunity to pursue PhD work with an external
registration and may be sponsored for pursuing M.E/M.Tech. by availing study leave (wherever admissible).
Relaxations:
1. Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for the regular employees working in CSIR Laboratories/Institutes,
Government Departments, autonomous Bodies and Public Sector Undertakings.
2. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST and by 3 years in the case of OBC candidates for
the posts, which are reserved, for the respective categories. (Current year’s certificate in the central
government prescribed format is to be enclosed) Relaxation in upper age limit for Persons with Disabilities
(PWD) and Ex-servicemen will be applicable as per Govt of India rules. The SC/ST/OBC candidates who
apply against unreserved vacancies will not be eligible for age relaxation.
3. Relaxation of 5 years will also be permissible to those who had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir
division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989 subject to production
of relevant certificate from concerned authority.
General conditions / Information:
1. The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained through recognized Universities/Institutions.
2. The number of vacancies under each code is provisional and may vary.
3. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and/or experience shall be the closing date
prescribed for receipt of Online Electronics Application i.e. 31-10-2011.
4. The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of
acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualification prescribed for that Group/Grade.
5. Applications from candidates working in Government Departments, autonomous bodies, Public Sector
Undertakings and Government Funded Research Agencies will be considered only if forwarded through
proper channel and with a clear certificate that the applicant will be relieved of his/her duties within one month
of receipt of appointment order, if selected for the post applied for.

8. The prescribed Essential Qualifications are a bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the
candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to an advertisement

Laboratory may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis
of qualifications and experience higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The
candidates should, therefore, furnish all the qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant field, over
and above the minimum qualifications prescribed.
9. Relaxation in age, over and above the stipulated limit, educational qualification and/or experience will only be
considered in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
10. Higher initial pay could be considered for exceptionally meritorious candidates, as per extant rules.
11. An application fee (Non-Refundable) of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) (no application fee for Scheduled
Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates/PH candidates/regular employees of CSIR) is payable separately for each
